I have a 3100 switch. The console port is a female 9 pin dsub. Do I use a null modem cable or a straight through serial cable or somethign else entirely? I havent been able to get a prompt from hyperterminal no matter what combination of cables I use.
Thanks
Thanks

calaverasgrandes,
Try using a serial null modem cable between your serial port of your computer to the console port of the 3100 switch. If you can't get a serial null modem cable to connect the serial port of your computer to the console port of your 3100 switch, then use a serial straight through cable with a null modem adapter.
