Downloads and IE..

I'm trying to get an application that can stop or block all downloads in IE--an application that can stop the download dialog box from loading. I already have this app on my pc that stops popups from comming up. So I was sure if that kinda app was around, a downloadbuster or blocker must be around the corner too.

Does anyone have any ideas....

Ahhh, don't see family fued here .... thankfully?

The think I always tell people is before downloading something, find out if your current software has settings that will do the trick. A quick viewing of security settings in IE gives one many options, and the trick is to set things at a level that is the least intrusive.

it would be better if they had a 'prompt' option for that. right now, it's enable and disable and it does get annoying when you do want to download something.

OK, one more thing. Can I prevent users from playing around with the security settings once I set them?

What is your OS?

Oh it's all MS stuff. My pc runs windows XP but I've got another one that runs win 98. IE version is 5.0 on the win 98 machine and 6.0 on the XP machine.

This should be doable by using a group policy to enforce the 'disabled' setting.
