Connecting to Printer Question!!!

Guys, i don't understand why i should add the (.) on the url to connect to
connect to the printer in this form:
http://printserver_name/Printers/share_name/.printer

i'm not sure if I understand your question correctly. Are you asking if that the proper way to connect to the printer? Or are you asking why is that the proper way to connect?

Sorry not being clear, I meant why the was dot (.) and printer at the end ".printer"

Thanks for the reply but i'm still confused.
When i want to go to a printer on my web server, I type:
http://webserver/printers/printername

According to what i read on the page u directed me to, I have to type:
http://webserver/printername

I thought this: http://webserver/printername was used when connecting to a printer shared on a different computer on the network that has no iis or pws and http://webserver/printers/printername used to connect to printer on a networked computer but with iis and pws?

I hope i'm making sense!
