O&O DiskRecovery is the one I use most of the time.

All the best ones I use are commercial, but this one is free and I've heard great things about it. I ran it once on a drive and it recovered quite a number of older files I thought were gone.

Pc inspector file recovery has worked wonders for me. I lost all my music (150 gb's) because a drive became corrupted. I was able to retrieve all the data and restore it on a new drive, it is a great free program to use.

File Scavenger works well for me.

    +1

Runs directly off a flash drive, works great.
