See Admin SHares Remotely

Should I be able to see a 03 server's (or XP/2000) C$ from a different 03 sever? Specifically, I want to use the backup on a 03 server to backup the c: on 3 other computers. When I open NW Places in the backup app, I see the computers but not their admin shares? Do I have to add a new share to these computers? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have admin rights to the computer then you can see a hidden share by clicking on the start menu, run and type the following: \\SERVERNAME\C$ were SERVERNAME is the name of your server or computer.

In order to access a hidden share you have to put in the $ and the end.

The reason you're not seeing the share in My Network Places is because it is a "Hidden" share. You will have to create a new share in order to get it to show up in My Network Places.
