Hi Guys,
Before I start googling this issue I thought I may pick the brains of my fellow techexam'ers.......
Some of our Server 2k3 boxes are missing the DHCP option 161........
Anyone aware of how to activate or add in this option? Server is running 03 Standard Edition.
Cheers,
Adrian

APA Member Posts: 959Apologies.... Been flat out at work hence no explanation but here we go!!!!
Was getting frustrated as I noticed that some of our 2k3 boxes had option 161 but the 2k3 box that I needed it on didn't and our Senior Systems Engineer was so adament that you couldn't add custom options.........................so I started playing around with the DHCP options and noticed on the action menu within the DHCP Management Console that there is a option 'Set Predefined Options'. Once selected it allows you to add in custom DHCP options these custom options then become available when modifying settings for your current scopes or when you add new scopes.
FYI..........
DHCP Option 161 allows you to specify the IP address of an FTP server. We needed this option as we are implementing a IP Tel infrastructure for a new site, intially I would have thought the phones would use tftp to download their configs from the phone server as that's how our other IP Tel sites work but then again they are using a different infrastructure.
