Failed 70-620

tomtechtomtech Member Posts: 39 ■■□□□□□□□□
56 questions
Scored 667
short 3-4 questions I think in order to get 700 passing

I used Sybex book + Technotes here. I only studied for a week and I kind of had a feeling I was going to be in trouble.

Anyway, the results printout helped me identify the 2 areas I was weak in (strong in the other 5). I'm going to study more and retake it in a week.

This is my 6th certification exam and the 1st time I've failed. I'm kind of bummed but I know I didn't prep enough. Next time I'm definitely passing.

You'll nail it next time mate.

I'm also taking the the 70-620 and 70-621 in a couple of weeks.

Any particular area's which were heavily tested? eg. UAC and/or UAC policy settings, IE7 settings, PC, FW rules.

    Sorry about the fail icon_sad.gif

Have you had hands on experience with Vista yet? I studied for this exam by reading the book, but primarily I just used all the new features and played around with the config options.

Good luck on your next attempt!

I found the exam very even. You will not want to skip any areas, but yes, definatly know all the UAC areas.

I have some hands-on experience with Vista, but apparently not enough.

Most of the questions I got seem to center around UAC, remote assistance/desktop, Firewall exceptions, and Windows Meeting Space.

exactly the same as mine and i failed it this morning with a score of 569 icon_sad.gif

practice exams obviously were not enough and i've had vista installed my work laptop since last Christmas so I thought it would be enough but obviously not!

Most of mine was about UAC, public and private sharing with mobile/wired connections, a little bit of upgrading from xp.

Anybody got a link to the best place i can buy the sybex book from?

    thanks alot..

The Mike Myers passport book for this exam isn't too bad. I'm about half way through the book, and its been pretty good. It's been covering the topics from the exam pretty well.

I have been using the Self-Paced Training Kit from MS Press. It seems fairly comprehensive. Also have Thompson Course Technologies 07-620 book which was used for class I took at local Community College. It was not very well regarded by students.
Am I correct that a score of 700 is a pass? Is this out of 1000 or 900? (%70 or %80 to pass).
I have been doing well on practice exams included w book, but will keep doing them several times daily, then take exam next week.
Are the comments regarding UAC, Mobile Devices, and FW settings accurate?
    Many thanks

    Hey bro,

No shame in a fail, and now with the 2nd shot offer it makes total sense to write a little early in the hopes of passing and getting the cert. Worst case scenerio, you fail, and know where you need to focus for your next try.

Good luck on your next attempt!
