New User account dilema
billybob01
Hi all, we are recruiting for a web technician and i have been asked to setup a server (no problem) and also give the user remote access to the server but only with enough permissions so that he can remote in to the server and work on the website. Any ideas how this can be done as i have only got back into IT and the brain is not working as it should be today!! Many thanks for any help.

If he's to work on the web
site
only and not the server you could setup an FTP account so he can change and upload files of the website.

Microsoft has an IIS 6 MMC for XP machines. He would still need full admin rights on the server, but you can use local policy so that he cannot log in locally and is not allowed TS access. He just administers IIS on the server from his desktop.

If all he needs is to develop web pages then what Johan said will work fine.

What about creating a local Admin account on the server for him instead and make him a member of remote users? Or is this wrong?
So sorry for sounding dumb but how do setup an FTP account for this user?
