grr 2509

okay so i recently got my 2509 router and configured it and all that. anyway, it seems that now it doesn't want to work. today i moved my track from one part of the room to another.... all other equipment works fine. as a matter of fact, the router was working for a while after the move because i did ping the ethernet interface on it.

this is what i get now when i turn it on. i've unplugged all the console cables and the AUI.

and it just does nothing after that. doesnt seem to respond to anything.

grrrrr

any ideas?

I would open it up and reseat the ram/flash. I know POST runs first and then the bootstrap loads followed up the IOS. Try hitting CTRL+Break during the boot to see if you can get into ROMMON mode.

lol.. i was just doing break. maybe thats why it wasn't going to rommon? anyway i'm playing with linux trying to get my laptop wireless driver working so i'm going to put this off until tomorrow night.

Depends what your using to get into the router. Different break sequences for different software and routers. You using hyper terminal ?

The break sequence for teraterm is Alt+b.

Take the mempry out completely and see if it throws an error, might indicate the issue to be related to the memory or the router itself. Make sure there's no metal parts floating around in the router that could be csuding a short and an NMI. If you have another 2500 swap the powersupply and see if that is the issue.
