Number of Microsoft Certified Professionals Worldwide

Finally a complete overview (unless someone else posted this before and I missed it):
www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/certified.mspx
2,149,006 MCPs in total!
of which 18.4% is MCSE NT 4.
As you can see in the list, the number of MCSE 2003 is very small compared to 2000 and NT 4 and despite a share going to MCSA it was clearly time for the new generation of Microsoft certs.

ajs1976 Member Posts: 1,945 ■■■■□□□□□□Just some background information for the new people that weren't around for the 240 exam. it was free, but you only had one shot at it and it retired at the end of 2001. It was equivalent to taking 210, 215, 216, and 217 at the same time. If you are talking about the MCSE 2003, it would be like taking 270, 290, 291, and 294 at once.Andy

GT-Rob Member Posts: 1,090wow less than 100,000 people worldwide have MCSE 2003? I would have guessed much more than that. I guess since windows 2000 is used so much still a lot have people have not bothered to upgrade.

For me it has been a motivation issue. My old employer promised a raise when I completed the MCSE (NT 4). Now that I have the MCSE title and since my current employer is not offering an incentive, the motivation isn't there. That is why I started the MCSE 2000 in '00, but didn't finish until this July. I am working on the MCSA 2003 update, but I don't know if I will go for the MCSE 2003 update right away. There are other things I either have to do (some Citrix exams) or that I am more interested in (Security / Windows 200.Andy
