Going for a first attempt of -801 at the end of sept / beginning of of Oct. If I fail that, I should be able to get two more shots at it.

I am really against Cramming to pass an exam, especially CCNA because I enjoy it so much. I like to pace myself..but I don't have that option this time. If I do pass... I plan on buying the new material for the new exam anywho!

Yep, i'm trying to get it before the deadline. I don't really mind studying for teh extra topics - i just don't want to spend the money on more study books etc. Plus I'd like to crack on with ccnp.

First attempt on the 22nd september or 21st. I'm not so confident. Just nearing the end of my two week holiday during which i was going to do loads of studying. But it was making me think about work too much and selling the house has taken up a fair amount of time. So not achieved as much as I wanted to. But still loads of time till november.

I already have one book for the 640-802 and I am studying this book for the 640-801. So, I will learn the new material, but will be tested on the old requirements.

The book is: CCNA Portable Command Guide 640-802 from Cisco Press.

I'll be reaching the ISDN chapter in the Cisco Press book soon and its a fairly big chapter. It'll take quite a bit of time and there's a good amount of configuration to get through. I was wondering how much time others would spend on it. I get the feeling that some people are treating this as any other subject and others are saying that its more or less dropped now.

I wouldn't worry about ISDN configurations or anything like that. Focus on the principles of ISDN such as how many channels are in a BRI/PRI etc. ISDN is practically phased out in the current exam as it is.

Looks like I'll be taking it with you all on 9/22. I started studying end of July.

I failed last weekend with a 834...so close! It was my first attempt though, so I'll be feeling more confident going in the second time. I actually rushed thru it too much, I finished with 15 minutes left. I was half way thru the questions with half the time left and rushed too much I think on the second half.

I and a buddy of mine will be trying before Nov 6th. I passed the CCNA back in June of 2003, moved onto MS and never got back around to CCNP or anything. My CCNA lapsed so here I go again. I feel pretty confident with the transcender for the test, mostly shaky on frame-relay.

got back to work. was saying to my boss only a few weeks to go till my ccna. then realised it was actually next week! totally lost track of the calendar in my head! so, have now rearranged it for early october. that should give me a decent go at it.

just 30 more pages of ccna fast pass to go now. reckon i'll have to read through the wendell ICND book too though just to be sure. so, once i finish my note taking tomorrow then it's time to go back over all my ccna mindmaps. hopefully the info will fall easily into my brain. then time to hit the labsims again - shouldn't be too difficult i hope - will make further notes from the ccna portal command guide book. will also hit the cert sim questions. if i find ccna fast pass isn't up to answering those questions i'll really need to hit the ICND book!

i hope everyone elses studies are going well.

I'll be doing the Intro 821 and then ICND 2 once the tests change..

Not worried about the 821. It's cakewalk stuff.

Don't have a date yet, I should probably get one before everything is booked.

You can take the new tests as of Aug 1 probably, but you can also take the previous exams until 11/6.
