I have called Cisco on this question just to clarify this question with no luck. Ok if I passed the 821 and because the 801’s question bank if from the intro and the icnd, is it not easier for me to take the 801 instead? If you follow me on that. Lol I would image a slightly easier test am I wrong?
thanks

bighornsheep Member Posts: 1,506I'm having a hard time trying to understand your question, but I guess you're wondering whether you should take the 1exam route, or 2 exams?
If so, read:

Or, are you wondering whether 811 (ICND) is harder, or comprehensive CCNA (801) is harder? The answer is, 801 will be harder...Jack of all trades, master of none -
dtlokee Member Posts: 2,378 ■■■■□□□□□□I have always encouraged my students to take the 801 exam instead of the two test path. I don't beleive it is any easier, I don't think Cisco would do that. The 801 is a mix of both ICND and INTRO, but you will not pass it if you are weak in either ICND or INTRO.The only easy day was yesterday!

minilog118 Member Posts: 4 ■□□□□□□□□□My question is if i already passed the intro and i have the icnd down pack is it not easier for me just to take the ccna? I would have a better chance of passing with some questions from the intro or intro level.

So in essence, you are wondering whether 801 is easier than 811, and like you have said yourself as confirmed by dtlokee, 801 covers more than what 811 covers, so you're being asked to do more and you will get more time to do it too. (ie. it's a longer exam)
I can see how this is a valid question for somebody who's deciding between 801 and 821, whether to do one-exam path, or the 2-exam path...but if you have already passed INTRO, I don't see how it can be a tough choice deciding your next exam.Jack of all trades, master of none -
mikej412 Member Posts: 10,086 ■■■■■■■■■■Its a toss up. How well do you remember the INTRO material?
From the exam blueprints, the ICND exam could be be 40-50 questions of just the "harder" ICND material. The CCNA exam could be 55-65 questions.... but I've always guessed from looking at the exam blueprint that the single exam was no more than about 20% of the "easy" INTRO material. Either way, you could still get about the same number if ICND questions...:mike: Cisco Certifications -- Collect the Entire Set! -
minilog118 Member Posts: 4 ■□□□□□□□□□ok i get what your saying but you are not reading the question, YES the ccna is long but if it has easier qurestions then if i had to pick between a hard test or a long test i would pick the longer and have a better change of passing
