Catalyst Password Recovery while maintaining startup-config

I have a 2924-XL-A but I would like to save the startup-config, the only problem is that I don't know the enable password. Is there anyway to recover the password without erasing the startup config?

I'm going to try to copy the config.text to tftp when I get home according to instructions here:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps628/products_password_recovery09186a0080094184.shtml

But just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

If you have the switch up and running (although I don't think you do :)), you can enter privileged exec, do copy start run, then overwrite the enable password by simply setting another enable password.

If the switch is powered off, you can try a normal password recovery procedure, just like the one your link points to - it saves the configuration in the end, but with a new password.

Just follow the procedures in the link that you have. It'll do exactly as you stated you want. It'll preserve the configuration while allowing you to change the passwords.
