Dear Friends
How r u all ??? I wish u r in very good health ..... I have 2 questions about UDLD and i wish u could help me :

1)Does UDLD can be enabled on any ethernet interface ??

2)UDLD gives protection against miswiring .... what is meant by miswiring ????

    Yes UDLD can be enabled on ethernet interfaces, but ethernet interfaces do not usually become unidirectional. UDLD is more for fiber links that become unidirectional. Miswiring could cause one end of the link to not receive from the other. It protects against not only miswiring but also if the transmit or receive fiber fails.

    As said before used for fibre links i.e. Gig ethernet, 10Gig etc. If you physically loop a gig fibre back on itself on a switch it will cause a loop, UDLD will disable the port if enabled. It sends out a frame on the transmit and expects to receive the same frame on the receive within a specific time period.If it doesnt receive the frame the port is disabled.
    Networking, sometimes i love it, mostly i hate it.Its all about the $$$$
