LPIC-1 and lunux+ what's the difference?

are these two different exams or is the LPIC-1 the name of the linux+ exam?

    The lpi is from http://www.lpi.org/en/lpi/english/certification

    The linux+ is from comptia http://certification.comptia.org/security/

    2 completely different exams from different venders

    I had a look at http://www.pearsonvue.com/ which is where I book my tests normally

    they only seem to support the LPI exams i'm guessing level 1 exam 101 is the first one to tackle?

    do CompTIA have there own test centers, has anyone book or taken the linux+ in the UK?

    CompTIA exams are offered through both VUE and Prometric. I think I used VUE when I did the Linux+ back in '04 or '05.

    LPIC requests two exams while Linux+ one. LPIC expires in 5 years while Linux+ permanent.
