Had to power down the router to get it to stop, it just completely flooded Hyperterminal, couldn't do anything about it.
It now works, a cold restart did the trick. But does anyone know what it means?
Starting my CCNA journey!

Slowhand Mod Posts: 5,161 ModAccording to this article which references the "Unexpected exception to CPU vector" message directly, it seems to be an attempt at the IOS software to access an invalid memory address. The other message, "Nested write_crashinfo call", seems to be an error handler trying to trace the issue. From the sounds of it, judging by the fact that reloading the device cleared the error, you probably just saw a random software bug. If the error occurs again, and on a regular basis, it may be time to install a fresh copy of the IOS. If it still happens after you do that, then it's probably an issue with the hardware, most likely the CPU or the memory itself. (And, if your Cisco device is showing signs of hardware issues, it's time to think about getting a replacement.)
