redistribution and NSSA
Hi, i'm just reading through some things about NSSA and redistribution and i came across this link on the cisco site...
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/104/nssa.html
it states that;
"Redistributed RIP routes are not allowed in Area 1 because NSSA is an extension to the stub area. The stub area characteristics still exist, which includes no type 5 LSAs allowed."
I don't really understand that statement..i don't get why it says the IGRP can be injected into the area but RIP can't... does it mean that IGRP and create type 7 LSA and rip can't? or is it because that RIP is coming from a standard OSPF area so the type 7 LSAs wont be propagated through the network to the NSSA?

rakem,
In the first figure, do you see the RIP router in the bottom left corner of the first figure? See how it's connected to "Area 2?" Well, the routes it learned through RIP may be redistributed into Area 2 but won't be redistributed all the way across the backbone (Area 0) into Area 1. Does this make sense?
