MCTS 620 - New to tech

I just got into the IT world and need to study for the MCTS 620. I work for an IT company and my goal is to jump in head first and take the vista exam.

I am hoping to get any advice that will help me proactively meet this goal. I know nothing (well close to nothing) about this subject matter, so I don't even know where to start. Luckily I will have the brains of few people to pick, but my success will come from my own initiative.

Some things I'm wondering:
-good IT dictionary/ reference books for basic terms
-direction on where to start
-anything and everything

    Where to start:

get a study guide. If you go to amazon and search for Vista 70-620. You should get three or more results. Look into the one from MS Press or Sybex to start with.

Look for the technotes on this site.

Read through this board to see what others have done.

Get Vista installed somewhere so you can play with it. It can be on a physical or virtual computer.

    Good luck
    Andy

The Windows Vista Resource Kit is a wonderful reference book. Its not an easy to read cover to cover, but it is packed full of all kinds of useful information.
