The type is the type of LMI message. I believe there is type 0 and type 1.

Type0 is called a status inquiry and will give you a more detailed output of the debug frame-relay lmi like info on all pVC's DLCI assignments, and BW.

Type1 output is more like a little keepalives.

Thanks, i came across this on a practice test thru the ccna prep site.
I found these field descriptions off of cisco's site:

Field Description
RT IE 1
Value of the report type information element.

length 1
Length of the report type information element (in bytes).

type 1
Report type in RT IE.

They don't help at all, I don't see what the signifigance of it would be, why would they put something like this on a practice test for ccna?
