# of CCNPs

Does anyone know roughly how many CCNPs are wandering around out there? I read somewhere that there are a few hundred thousand CCNAs, which, considering the 4+ billion world population, isn't a whole lot. Perhaps there are 50-thousandish or so CCNPS?

From "Certification Statistics" thread at the Cisco Online Support web site
Cisco is proud to announce that we currently have over 600,000 certified individuals in our growing Career Certification Program. This number includes all individuals worldwide certified at the CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CCDP, CCIP and CCSP levels of Certification, as well as the Specialist focused certifications. Cisco Systems does not disclose the break-down of the total number of individuals who have completed different Cisco certifications.

For CCIE Statistics, please visit the CCIE website:

It sounds like they only counted me once in that number.

I'd guess most of them are CCNA. To bad it doesn't break it down further. Im guessing its kind of like the CCIE numbers with the majority moving on to NP rather than VP or SP.

Idk if it was just the instructor I had, or the fact that QoS is so much of ONT, but it was basically all about voice, so I tend to agree. The thing that really bothers me is why I had some security on BCMSN, then wireless security on ONT, when there is an entire exam devoted to security.

    Hi all,

I'd like to know how they calculate this.
In case of people holding multiple Professional certs do they count both ?
CCIE's who got Professional and Associate certs are they counted multiple times too ?
Or are they just counting the number of test takers in their database ?

    Just my 2cents...

    Well,

The world's population is just over 6 billion.

According to Cisco, the number of certified people is 600,000.

That means that 0.01% of the world's population are certified by Cisco.

I have too much time on my hands...

if you think as well that
the population for age 15-64 year olds is : 65.1% (male 2,174,605,518/female 2,124,494,703)

and most cisco certified people are male, bit sexist but true!

I wonder how many doctors there are in the world! I bet there's more doctors than CCIE's !!!

There are more doctors within 25 miles of my house than CCIE's in the world (OK I don't know this for a fact but I'm sure there are when I look at the phone book and there's like 50 pages of doctors in my county alone)
