Say you had the following switches:
A - - - - - - B - - - - - - - C
Switch C is the root, would switch A receive hello bpdu's from C? There is no direct connection between A and C.

Mikdilly,
If Switch C is the root switch, what type of switch is Switch B? -

As the BPDU's go from switch to switch, the costs will be added at each egress port. Also all switches base their hello and max age timers based on the root bridge. There is no place like 127.0.0.1 BUT 209.62.5.3 is my 127.0.0.1 away from 127.0.0.1!
