You'll be taking the new updated CCNA exam (or exams) so you'd want the latest Odem books and Todd's 6th edition for the 640-802 exam. Other Cisco Press CCNA stuff can be found on their About CCNA and CCENT page
Check out theCCNA Certification page on the Cisco Website for the exam options and information.
Cisco has just started offering their new entry level - the CCENT Certification -- which you get by taking the first exam of the 2 exam CCNA option. I think of it as Cisco's version of the Net+ since the old INTRO exam covered about 75-50% of the Net+ material.
Also check out the Cisco CCNA Prep Center for more information.
Basically grab a book and start reading. Decide if you want to get real hardware (the preferred recommended option) or just use a simulator (Boson, but stick to the labs that come with it or you'll waste time fighting software bugs).
If you have a networking background you might jump into the Odom books first and save Todd's Sybex book for review. If you're a networking (or computer) newbie, then you may want to try Todd's book first for a more "fun read" and save Odom for when you have an idea of what you are getting yourself into.
The key to the CCNA is to get as much hands on practice as you can so that you learn and understand the concepts.
Todd's book is great for Subnetting -- so even if you start with Odom, figure you'll be sneaking a peak at Todd's book for subnetting.
