server 2003 enterprise...more than 4gb

I know enterprise can see more than 4gb, but how? i've got 6gb installed and it only shows a little under 4gb,

dep is enabled which I thought also implies PAE?

any ideas icon_confused.gif

    What kind of hardware are you running? Sometimes hardware will play a part in it.

    found it, I gues PAE isn't implied like many websites said, had to manually add it to the boot.ini

    all RAM is present and accounted for :D

    Hello, We have a similar issue on a machine. Did you only add the /pae switch to fix this?

    Secondly, I read that these mechanisms are there to guard against malicious code and that the processor marks memory pages with a bit that makes those pages inelligible for executable code. It also says that when executable code is ran from these locations that an exception is raised.


    Now what is this exception? Is it an exception that allows the program to execute the code?
    There is no place like 127.0.0.1 BUT 209.62.5.3 is my 127.0.0.1 away from 127.0.0.1!

    yes the /pae switch in the boot.ini file allows the os to see all of the ram, dep is protection against malicious code yes....
