hey guys, how's it going?
well, i went for the interview few days ago. the scheduled interview was at 4pm but i got there early and asked if i could take the interview earlier than scheduled. he agreed and passed me a questionaire, 3 pages 25 questions in total. I was completely shocked when i saw that about 95% of the questions were related to security. Now, i don't know anything about security and tried my best to answer all the questions. I was given an hour but I finished within 30 minutes and I handed the paper back to him. I figured if i don't know the answers to the questions, why stick around and waste his time.I tried to think and answer all the questions. He had downloaded those questions from the internet and checked the answers right away. He told me the result was okay and had to work more on security. I don't think I read anything about security on CCNA but still I got some questions right. I think I got 50% of the questions right. He said he will think about it and i am still waiting for his answer. it's been 8 days now.
i would like to thank all of you for giving me suggestions and boosting my confidence.

networker050184 Mod Posts: 11,962 ModI'd have to say bad.... You shouldn't show up more than 10 min prior. If you do wait outside don't go in and ask to start the interview early. Also if you only got about 50% of the questions correct I doubt you will be getting a call back. Maybe you should look for positions more on your level of experince and in areas you have more knowledge.
There is a whole section of the forums for job realted topics. This isn't really CCNA/CCENT realted. An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made. -

I can tell you that more and more of the positions I come across are no longer pure in nature... it's tough to find a network position that doesn't include "extras". And yep, the most common is probably security.
In my current gig, though I'm a Network Admin, I'm also responsible for SCA's, PIXen, Radius, etc, and have just had overview of two new TopLayer IPS devices and two Citrix Access Gateways added to the mix. My days of just configuring switch/router ports and vlans are long gone.
So now that you know, hone your security skills.

And don't ever ask to start an interview early because you showed up early. What a horrible idea. -
