Question about MS Second Shot

" Register for the Microsoft Second Shot offer between September 15, 2007, and January 30, 2008, and receive a free Second Shot at passing the exam if you do not pass on your first try."

Does this mean you have to take the exam & if necessary the re-sit by the end of January or just have registered by the end of January & you can then use the voucher sometime in the future?

Hope I have missed previous thread about this and if I have, I am sorry

    You must take the first exam between September 15, 2007 and January 30, 2008. If you don't pass, you can retake the same exam at no additional charge before January 31, 2008.
