    username & password?

    both devices are configured with

    ip ftp username cisco
    ip ftp password cisco

I think they will send this username password automatically without me having to dd it to the copy command, but i could be wrong.I'm off to bed so hopefully someone can have an answer in the morning as i dont have time to play with this, bigger fish to fry.

Its an oldish thread, but i may as well answer it.
Anyway, its not possible to ftp between two cisco routers, as a cisco router doesn't have an inbuilt ftp server.I got it into my mind that i had done this previously, but obviously i was running tftp.

so it seems the route can only be an ftp client (pull)
    not run an ftp server
    rm -rf /
