Hey there mates,
well..actually i am in a bit of spot here. I have a CCNA cert which i passed last month ( no experience, since i studied like crazy for it right after finishing my Masters in Computer applications )
Now the situation here in India, as far as network administration is concerned, is not that good for freshers like me. Had technical Interview with Wipro tech last month over phone to get into networks. The interviewer was satisfied with my profile and interview, but he cud not take me since i need @least 6 months of experience ( aaahhh...so to gain experience i ought to have experience...kind of a deadlock situation ). Its been 16 weeks since i am in the job market...and i am starting to loose patience.
Yesterday i attended and interview for the post of Jr.System Admin. Had 2 rounds...was k0ol..no probs. they said they will call me ( i hope they do...or i hope not ) . As u can see heres the dilemma
shud i accept the Sys Admin role or wait for the right opportunity to get into networks..If i do accept the position, will it be helpful in anyway to get into networks in the near future.
My top priority would b to get into networks then ater some experience ( provided i get a job )..take up CCSP and get into network security.
What do u guys suggest...plz let me know..my brain's starting to go numb which is affecting my decision taking process...
oh and sorry for the long post....but cant help it.

Any tech job will count toward experience, and no one says you can't continue sending your resume out looking for something else even though you have a job.
Good luck to you.All things are possible, only believe. -

I'm also not sure how a company could legally bind you to agree to work for them for 2 years....I've never heard of that. If they pay for college tuiton, exam fees, etc you can be held accountable to pay that back if you leave, but again, I've never heard of a company locking an employee in for a set period of time.MCSE 2003, MCSA 2003, LPIC-1, MCP, MCTS: Vista Config, MCTS: SQL Server 2005, CCNA, A+, Network+, Server+, Security+, Linux+, BSCS (Information Systems)

welcome to India..
well, for freshers here, most of the "Big IT Firms" like Satyam, Infosys, TCS. Sierra Atlantic...etc.. here seek a commitment for a period of 18-24 months..most of my batchmates working for companies like these, have signed commitment...we and they call it "Bond" here. However these companies wont keep ur original certificates, they just keep a set of copies..but there are some companies like i encountered..that ask for the originals ( high school passout cert, Bachelors ..etc..and of course Specialized Certs like Cisco, Microsoft, Comptia..etc..
