Hey Cisco gurus; help!
okay ip subnet-zero means you can use the 0000s place subnet when
calculating subnet ranges?
so how does it effect these two equations:
2^n-2=S
2^n-2=H
is it now when using ip subnet-zero
2^n-1=s
2^n-2-h
does it only affect subnet address count or host as well.
thanks

You will get more threads than you can shake a crossover cable at. you will never only subtract 1. You will subtract 2 or nothing at all. Ip subnet zero defines the use of the all 1's subnet as well. The broadcast subnet. Even though it is posible to use, it may not be a good idea in certain situations but technically you can use it. Look around and do some research and it will stick in your head better than someone just telling you what to do. Good luck! There is no place like 127.0.0.1 BUT 209.62.5.3 is my 127.0.0.1 away from 127.0.0.1!
