Rapid Spanning tree

My 2950 does not have the option to enable rapid spanning tree. I think Jeremy used a 2950 in his example on the cbt's i watched.

My IOS version is 12.1 do i need an upgrade to enable rpvst ?

or did i hear jeremy wrong?
