Hi forum 
,
I am doing my cisco academy course and i just wanted to know if their was some kind of simulator where i can build my network and test it instead of going out and getting hardware that i cannot afford at the moment

Isn't hardware use the main point of the Cisco Academy?
Anyway there is Packet Tracer 4.1, Boson Netsim, etc. -

Dynamips/Dynagen...heavily used and heavily recommended, in the absence of hardware...
Search around in the forum and you'll find a heap of info...CCNA (Expired...), MCSE, CWNA, BSc Computer Science
