in CCNA & CCENT
Finally CCNA certified after three attempts and a cramming 8 months of study time.
I don’t work with Cisco everyday, that’s why I believe it took longer for me. Working towards this certification helped me jumpstart my networking career due to lack of experience. My advice for others is “when people ask what I should study for the exam”
Study and know everything little detail inside and out. I used the Cisco Press, Sybex, online resources, and not to mention my LAB setup. The electric bill increased dramatically…
I ran through thousands of practice questions also that came with the books. Overall I would definitely recommend the Sybex book (just my opinion).
If you work with it everyday, Sybex is probably all you need to get by but if you don’t work with it, you will need many resources. This was my first Cisco experience and I was shocked with the difficulty/tricky exam questions. Most of my trouble was deciphering the vague questions that Cisco throws at you.
I have to thank my family and friends first for all there support as well as all my techexam friends. Shouts go out to Bmauro, Mikej412, dtlokee, webmaster, and many others for all the helpful replies. Putting cisco first in my life was the only regret during this adventure. My next journey is to get my hands dirty with some firewall activity.
Everyone who did not pass before the deadline – don’t give up!
