Just wanted to know if anyone has sat this exam? I can't seem to find much information on it, but several companies I work with use it. If anyone could clue me in or let me know how thier experience taking this exam was, that would be great.

Sorry I never saw your original post. I didn't even know they had an exam for 2006 to be honest. All things are possible, only believe. -
mcook76 Member Posts: 7 ■□□□□□□□□□No problem. I work for a security company and we use a good amount of ISA 2004 and 2006 so I thought I would try it out. It isn't an exam that is out there as much as 70-350 was. They are coming out with 2008 in March and I'll probably take that too. Thanks for your reply!

I want to get my hands on some ISA stuff and possibly take the exam someday. I've never used other than classroom labs for MOC 2823.B.S.B.A. (Management Information Systems)

gazanga Member Posts: 7 ■□□□□□□□□□I'm planning on taking this next week. What areas would you recommend I go over? I've got functional knowledge of ISA 2000, 2004, and 2006, and have ran Checkpoint and Pix fw's, but am not sure what to focus on as far as "drinking the kool-ade" goes.

How and when you should export/import configs, understand the relationships between internal/external networks as seen by ISA, caching. That's about it. Most of my questions were about those subjects. The are plenty of scenerios/diagrams where you need to figure out what to do, but that's not unlike any other MS exam. Good luck! I just finished a 2006 install yesterday and just scheduled 3 more for the next few months.

Is the prep material for 70-350 good enough to pass.
I've deployed a number of ISA projects from 2000-2006 and done a lot of troubleshooting. Passed the ISA 2000 exam as well but want that MCTS title -

I haven't taken 351, so I'll just say "I don't know" in order to help bump your question again. All things are possible, only believe. -

I used the Schinder 2004 book, 2004 Transcenders, and went over the new features in 2006, plus hands on as I did a migration of a multi-array config.
Of note, there is a Schinder ISA 2006 "Migration guide" book, but it's actually his new book that covers 2006 similar to his 2004 book. It's quite good, and if you haven't read the 2004 version especially, it's probably worth reading and great exam prep. Might as well get that instead of the 2004 book if you're gonna get something.

And also, btw, yes, this exam does count as an elective for MCSE 2003: Security. Read it and weep:
Credit toward certification

Thanks for the info. I'll check out the book you mentioned. -
royal Member Posts: 3,352 ■■■■□□□□□□I think it was poor choice for them to put the word migration in the title of the 2006 book. I'm sure it makes people not want to get the book due to the fact it sounds like it's not a book that teaches you about ISA, but rather just shows you how to migrate an existing implementation to 2006.“For success, attitude is equally as important as ability.” - Harry F. Banks

HeroPsycho Inactive Imported Users Posts: 1,940I absolutely agree with you. Had I known it was a full book, I'd have bought it to prep for the 2006 exam. But by the time I saw the book, I had completed the migration, so I didn't think I had a need for it. I passed the exam, but a co-worker of mine ordered the book, so I flipped through it, and come to find out, it was a book about ISA 2006, not just migrating from previous versions.
It cost them a book sale, although I might get it as a reference. I used the 2004 book A LOT! I have to say, it's not very often you find a book that's exceptionally informative and well written. Of all tech books I've bought, the 2004 book was by far the best quality I've read. Granted, you need to take a lot of what Shinder says with a grain of salt because he's what is known as a product "evangelist" when it comes to ISA, but that's part of why the book is probably so good. It's obvious how passionate he is for ISA when you read how well everything is explained.Good luck to all!
