How would one interpret the VLSM worksheet as it pertains to an ip address with a / notation?

Do what???? Are you asking how to identify a /24 or /30 in decimal?There is no place like 127.0.0.1 BUT 209.62.5.3 is my 127.0.0.1 away from 127.0.0.1!

Specifically, I am referring to page 143 from the CCNA study guide from Todd Lammle's Exam 640-802.

Look at that.
It shows how as you change the CIDR notation, the binary netmask equivalent changes, and the number of hosts changes, thus affecting the decimal notation subnet mask changes.
