so...i have this machine with vista installed as well as a raid controller and i cant get vista to boot.
this machine belongs to a friend of mine who has asked me to kind of take a look at it and see what i can do.
i asked him what he did before this happened, he said he added another disk to his raid controller then converted the c: to a dynamic disk then extended it to grab a hold of the unused space
when i booted it up at my place it displayed a Mac address and a guid i assumed it was trying to boot off of the network, i changed the boot devices to harddrive and cdrom
when it checks for the harddrive it asks for a system disk.
when booting for the vista cd, it does not detect the harddrives when i run the recovery tools, i try to install the raid driver still no luck
when starting the install procedure it does detect the harddrive, when i run the Command line tool i can browse the C: drive just fine
right now im using the automated tool that fixes errors that might cause windows to not boot.
do you guys have any ideas/opinions on what might be wrong?
(this is my first experience with windows vista)
