Passed BSCI today!

Hey everyone,

I passed my BSCI today with a score of 946!

I did about 6 months of study for this exam... just took my time and since i work 5 days a week i was mostly studying after work and on weekends.

I used both Cisco press books:
Authorized Self-Study Guide Third Edition
Offical Exam Certification Guide Fourth Edition.

I think these books complement each other very well. The official Exam Certification Guide doesnt go into the same depth as the Self Study guide but it does have a lot of good points.

The labs in the Self Study guide are really good as well as they cover a lot of show and debug commands, and they pretty much cover everything you need to know.

I also used CBT nuggets 642-901 and Train signal 642-901. Both are excellent. The train signal ones with Chris Bryant are really really good. he goes into so much detail and makes things easy to understand. The CBT nuggets were good as well but didnt go to the same depth as Train signal.

For my lab i have 2x2600 routers running 12.3 enterprise IOS with WIC-2T in each and two 1710s running a 12.4 IOS.

I didn't use my lab that much, did most of my labs in Dynamips where i built the network that is in the Self Study Guide book.

Also got lots of help from people on this site as well as the cisco website.

thanks everyone!

gonna take a few months off then hit up the BCMSN

    Excellent work mate.

Glad to hear dynamips worked for you. Was looking at the kit list recommendations in the book last night. 4 x 2811s!

Congratulations...Good luck with BCMSN, although I don't think you will need luck. Looks like you know how to get it done.
There is no place like 127.0.0.1 BUT 209.62.5.3 is my 127.0.0.1 away from 127.0.0.1!

If you liked the Train Signal videos for BSCI, you can also try them for BCMSN. I am using them now, it is helps a lot. I also added a 3550 switch w/EMI to my home lab. I got it on Ebay for $750. Not at steal, but not bad either.

    Congrats on your pass.
