EIGRP and Multiple AS

Hey Team,

An interviewer asked me a question, and I'm not sure if he/she phrased the question correctly. It goes, Can EIGRP route multiple AS? I said no! Figuring he/she was referring to EIGRP supporting interdomain routing like BGP. Was no! the right answer. If there are multiple AS in EIGRP, then the routers would not become neighbors. Have I totally gone stubby?

EIGRP can route multiple AS using redistribution.

    eigrp can.....

BGP can route between diff AS (registered AS's......)

EIGRP AS's do not have to be registered AS's but that doesn't mean they can't route between AS's... Like what bighornsheep said, by using redistribution you can route between diff EIGRP AS's....

    :D

"Can Eigrp route multiple ASs" i would have told the interviewer the question doesnt make sense, a routing protocol exchanges routes which allows the router to route packets.BGP exchanges routes that have an AS attribute, it does not route muliple ASs, it may route data between multiple ASs but that wasnt the question. Conclusion the interviewer is a moron.
