Online Learning

Has anyone on the forum found an online course that they liked?
Or, maybe some you didn't like?
My company is willing to pay for some courses but I want to use something that works. Let me know what your experience is/was.

Is there a reason it has to be online? Would they spring for CBT Nuggets, Transcenders, etc?

I'm investigating that possibility. I've asked if they are interested in the CBT route, but I haven't heard. The online learning is what they asked for.
They're looking for the more than just M$, they also want CompTIA for some other techs.

I have my employer pay for a monthly subscription for http://safari.oreilly.com (Huge selection of current MS Press, Cisco Press, etc. books online) and the CBT Nuggets and Transcender practice test for each exam. It's a good mix of resources. Keeps things interesting and the different perspectives/styles help the material sink in. These products will help you with MS, Cisco, CompTIA, and more. You can usually get all this for the same price as one MS course online, which I think is a much better value.

I also do all my lab work (for my MCSE) with VMWare Workstation 6. I'm currently acquiring hardware for my CCNA studies, but that's a whole different story...

Do you know how much the monthly subscription is?
I went through a lot last year getting my lab together for my CCNA. I'm not an expert, but I'd be glad to help if I can.

I pay $40 month for unlimited books in my "library," but I think they have cheaper plans as well. I was easily spending $120+ per month in books, so I'm saving a ton. I never resell my books because I like to keep them as reference, and then they're obsolete, so it's not like I'm really out anything by not actually owning them. Plus, It's nice being able to just browse hundreds of books. If I have a question about a topic, I can just find a related book and go through it. I think it's a great value.

I think I'm good as far as my lab goes (for now), but I appreciate the offer. Keep an eye out for me in the CCNA forum

I used that for a bit when I needed to go through a lot of Wrox books. I prefer Safari, but Books 24x7 isn't bad either. I think it really comes down to what publishers you need. You'll notice Cisco Press and O'Reilly are missing from the list: http://corporate.books24x7.com/browsepartners.asp?item=publist

That's an instant deal-breaker for me.
