Console cable

Hi guys,

I just wanted to find out if it was possible to convert a console cable from a DB9 jack to a USB using an adapter? Thanks!

Yes - just get an inexpensive USB->Serial adapter on ebay. Most are plug and play on XP and give you another COM port.

And as Chris Bryant, CCIE #12933 says, don't pay $0.01 for one and $10 shipping!

My most used cable it is. Works on most devices including cisco, juniper, bluecoat. I use the cisco blue cable provided with all cisco devices & the usb to db9 serial

I use this adapter with cisco cable (blue one) on daily basis without a problem.
