I think the biggest downside of the kit is the 1924s; I don't think those are of much use anymore. The 2950s are the ideal switch to have. You might also be able to get by with 2520s instead of the 26xx. -

I don't have any idea about cisco..
That mean i just get a 9250 and 2x2520 first???
Because i'm new for cisco so i'm plan to get a home lab first before start my CCNA
Should i go thru the book first before build my own lab ????.... -
networker050184 Mod Posts: 11,962 ModI'd read something first. How else would you know how to put your lab together? You should get more than one switch though or you won't be able to do STP. Also you should probably grab at least three routers preferably four. Good luck!An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made.

For starting the CCNA, theres the whole 25xx, 26xx (XM, regular), 36xx, to look at. Theres plenty of different models of 29xx switches, different edition softwares/IOS, etc.Buying hardware for a home lab is addicting-- (Need.. more.. toys...) **(need.. more.. money)
