For those who have taken the 70-290 and passed.

What is the average time you studied?

I did it in a month while working full-time and taking a college course. 50-75 hours maybe...

    Thanks Juan1984 and Dynamik.

I share a similar situation with you Dynamik. I am in school and work full time. I just wanted to get an idea of what I needed to do to obtain this cert in a relatively short time. I can squeeze 40+ hours in less than 3 weeks.
    Thanks for the feedback guys!

I passed with an 814 the first time after 20 hours of reading, 15 hours of practice, and 10 hours of practice testing. I used Sybex book and Exam Cram book (I always use both). I've worked in IT for about 3 months now on server 2003, so I had a little more knowledge about building servers
INCONCEIVABLE. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I took about a month for the 70-290 exam. Even with full-time working/going to school, it's still very doable to put away one Microsoft exam every one or two months, if you set aside a good chunk of hours per week. An hour or two of studying after work or school, a couple of hours on the weekend to do some lab-work, and it's a very attainable goal. Some exams, like 70-291 for example, might take longer, while others may go by faster. Depends on your experience and your ability to absorb information.

It's also a good idea to study the way that works best for you. If you don't like reading, the pick up CBT Nuggets or TestOut to help you out, (but I still recommend a good study book). Getting more than one book is always helpful, and there's lots of information on this forum about how to set up your own lab using Virtual PC or VM Ware.
