Scan/Copy certifications for interviews?

I wondered what people here thought about making copies of certifications to give to an interviewer during an interview.

I like to bring a folder with several copies of my resume, extra paper to write on, and a copy of my current class schedule (as I am in college) to interviews. I am trying to think of anything else an employer could want at that stage without becoming excessive. What are your thoughts on having a copy of your certifications handy at an interview? Would you only present them if your interviewer specifically asks about them because he saw them on your resume?

Personally, I think that might be going a little overboard. If they want verification then you can provide them with a copy of your CompTIA/Microsoft/Cisco transcript.
