in Security+
Got my first Cert today. Security+ was a requirement for my job.
Passed with a 814
This test definitely wasn't easy.
Should I go after Net+ or A+ next?

I sit this exam in the next month or so, do you have any advice for preparing for the exam? without breaking the NDA of course! study materials etc?
What area of IT do you work in? I'd say do the A+ if you intend to do MCSA/MCSE, CCNA if you work in networking and if you work in security look into SSCP or CISSP (they have certain work experience criteria)
Cheers

Also I used the VTE training ( https://www.vte.cert.org/vteweb/ ) which was provided by my employer. (Check out the free videos in the Library on that site) . Finally I used transcender and this site
I remember there were at least 10 questions that either wern't covered in my studies or were just one sentence so you really gotta know a lot!
Print this out and read a couple of times before your exam its a lifesaver!

I currently work part time for the military and I'm looking for an entry level IT job. I dont really care if it's a PC tech job, help desk, etc... I just want to get my foot in the door. -

I'm using similar materials, this has helped me confirm I'm on the right track. I'm using testout videos, Examcram, technotes from this site and obviously referencing the internet to clarify I know the topics, thanks for the link!sloppymike wrote:I currently work part time for the military and I'm looking for an entry level IT job. Sounds like your best plan of attack would be the A+ then Net+ and then possibly MCP 70-270 tonce you get your foot in the door!
Good luck! -

You can also go the Army IA site and take the IASO Mgmt Level 1 certification without any military/govt. credentials. It will look good on your resume and provide insight to the type of job you are seeking.
