Advice for a CCNA

Hello please i need recertify for my CCNA any advice i think on the wireless (642-587) or another Specialist Certifications, CCNP or a solution no too complicated. I have a new babygirl i dont have much time for spend, but i need re-certify. thanks anticipate for your advice.

I thought the 642-552 SND Securing Cisco Network Devices Exam was pretty easy. The most recent changes to the exam were to add the SDM tasks, but most of the stuff is just barely more advanced than the CCNA, and not really all that difficult. There aren't as many "configuration tasks" as some of the other exams, so there isn't as much to practice hands-on for the SIMs.

Once you get to the Professional Level exams, the only option is usually the Cisco Press Books -- so it's usually best just to start of on www.ciscopress.com and see what they suggest. The Cisco Press CCSP Page suggests the CCSP SND Quick Reference and the CCSP Flash Cards and Exam Practice Pack. There is also some additional recommended reading.

Don't let the single book for SNRS make you think that exam is easier -- it isn't

For a Simulator to practice on, you best option probably would be Dynamips (and dynagen). Check out this Dynamips and SDM thread to get started, if you don't have a home lab (and supported SDM router) left over from your CCNA.

Search the forum for more SDM and Dynamips information, but you'll eventually want to go to http://7200emu.hacki.at/ -- and if you search here for 7200emu you'll probably find a post I have somewhere with lots of the "dynamips starter links" -- here is the one I'm thinking of:
