in CCNA & CCENT
Phew! I thought I'd blow it on the first question as it was the simulation. Took me twenty minutes to finish it and I thought that I would finish the exam. Anyway, I passed with a 900 score. Time to press on with the next one!

INTRO is retired, but still available to acadamey students. An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made. -

mileage1969 Member Posts: 16 ■□□□□□□□□□Thanks for all the messages of support! In answer to your question Nel I began studying just less than a year ago. I know that sounds a long time but I started from scratch having had no computer knowledge whatsoever prior to then.I'm a professional trumpet player and since having kids decided that the unsociable hours isn't great for family life. A good friend of mine who works in IT suggested that I start in at the deep end and go for a ccna as I could study in my free time without it interfering with work, so I signed up with a local Cisco Network Academy. I bought the O.Wendal books, read them then read them again and again, went to the classes as often as I could and took the module tests and did the practical lab work mainly using Packet Tracer 4.1. My best advice is to learn your way around a router so that the configaring and commands become ingrained. Also you've got to learn sub-netting inside out and it's also worth spending time on TCP/IP. The best advice that my friend gave me when I started reading the ccna books was not to try to take everything in or remember it all the first time that you read it. I think it's a lot to absorb in one go. The books are very well written (although the editing is lacking) and build your knowledge up a step at a time. For more tests I found the Quia website a very useful tool, I also bought the Transcender software which gives explainations if you get questions wrong. I think the NetAcad final exams are the closest to the ccna exams. Thay have a pretty tight time limit which is the kicker in the ccna exam. If you're starting now you'll be doing the ICND 1 and ICND 2 exams which include more security and wireless training and again the O.Wendal books cover everything very thoroughly. All the best. Sure do. Well on the otherside of the capital anyway but its in commuting distance. Why?
Ive already done 3 of the 4 academy modules on my degree before i changed uni because of job relocation. i wish i studied hardy and went for it then!was a big mistake not to! ive forgot quote alot of things so would have to go over the material anyway. ive looked into doing the academy again but i dont know if i could afford the extra money for that at the minute?Xbox Live: Bring It On

alankool Member Posts: 1 ■□□□□□□□□□Hi folks
I passed the ccna intro in march 07 but due to serious illness i was unable to progress and get the icnd certification. I've now returned to work to find the certification is still o/s on my employee development committment. Work have been supportive throughout and I would like to complete this certification asap.
My question is, there have been changes to the exams do i have to resit the intro (icnd 1) exam?alan -
