I passed my 70-290 exam today. I'm a MCP now!
There were 45 questions and it took me 2.5 hours to finished it. About 30 minutes were spent on reviewing the questions.
The hardest were the simulations (permissions) and terminal services questions.
Onto 70-270 XP next!

I suspect that 70-270 will be easiest to do. I plan to write that exam at the end January.
I want to take advantage of the Second Shot voucher.
Then after that it's either Exchange 2003 or 70-291.
I heard that 70-291 is the beast. -

Some of the answers in the multiple choice question are obviously wrong but there are a few questions that had me scratching my head.
The a few simulation questions I couldn't figure out what they wanted me to do. For example there was one question that wanted me to ensure the user can log onto the account but the user account looked fine in AD --- unless it was a trick question. -

If you wabnt to really take advantage of the second shot, i would recommend doing 70-291/293.

dynamik Banned Posts: 12,312 ■■■■■■■■■□I did 290 first as well. I was pretty familiar with XP and wanted to try something I wasn't as familiar with. There's numerous things that are identical between the two, such as performance monitoring, so it really doesn't matter which one you do first. It's not like 291 and 293 where you would make things significantly harder on yourself by starting with 293.
Also, as far as the second shot goes, you must take the test and the retest (if you need to) by the end of the month: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/offers/secondshot/faq/default.mspx
That's exactly three weeks from today... -

It's a free re-take if you fail, but you have to take the exam and retake, if necessary, by January 31st. -
