Passed Sec+ Yesterday

Passed Sec+ exam yesterday with a 808. I must admit that I would have preferred a higher score but a pass is a pass...

Used Sybex, test out and this site. I will use this cert as an elective for the MCSA Security. What MS security cert do you suggest to have along with tis one for the MCSA?

Cheers.

Congrats. Don't be frustrated with the low score. The Sec+ requires memorization of a lot of small details. A pass is, indeed, a pass.

One of these other guys will have to help you with the MS suggestion. I'm a UNIX admin icon_wink.gif

    Congrats!

BTW, that's not a bad score really. The exam is only scaled to 900. I could just be saying that because it's a better score than what I got though icon_wink.gif

    Congrats on the pass icon_thumright.gif

299 and Security+ are probably the most common security electives for the security specialization. I haven't seen a lot of people go for either of the ISA exams, but if that interests you and/or you think you're going to be working with it, go for it. Also, the MCSA security electives are identical to the MCSE security electives, so whichever elective you take will also apply to your MCSE: Security if you want to continue on to that.

    Thanks guys!!

I am actually really happy to have this cert, which is not easy by the way. This was my first steps in the security world, my goal being the CISSP.

I will follow your suggestions and complete my MCSA:S with the 299.

But let's get focused on the 270 icon_wink.gif

    Cheers

I over prepared and found the CISSP exam to be easier. The questions are more general. My Sec+ exam asked far more detailed and obscure questions than my CISSP exam did.
