I was just wondering if anyone has purchased routers from these guys?

I'm not advertising them.. I am just curious if I can trust them.

I've already purchased two routers from ebay.. And one of them was DOA.
Buying from ebay is a nightmare. I tried to contact the seller to get it replaced and they replied saying that I did not contact them within 90 hours of arrival (which is not true).

Can you prove you contacted them within 90 hours, and did you pay through Paypal? You should be covered for up to $200.

Ebay is a great place to get gear, but you really need to be wary of the sellers. Make sure they have good feedback (quantity as well as quality) and have a non-DOA policy and/or other warranty.

I have used them for cables/rack mount kits only and not for routers. The stuff always came quick and in new condition but I never bought any equipment from them. If you can prove that you sent the email within 90 hours you are golden. Grab the tracking number and search the tracking history of the package and when it was signed for. Then compare that to the timestamp on your email and that should be enough to prove you are within your 90 hours. They should help you... if not complain to your CC and have the charge reversed. I bet they start complying then...

I've purchased from them quite a few times.... both from eBay and from their site. You might be able to find a better deal if you shop around, but their prices are always competitive. If I can't find something I need on eBay I'll go and check their site.

They've always done a good job shipping -- good packing and they get it out quick.

Yes, I just purchased a 2503, a WIC-1T, and some cables from them, in fact. The 2503 appears to be fully operational.

And I'll second the sentiment about eBay being a nightmare. I've been burned one too many times purchasing from eBay, and I won't do it again if I can help it.

well, it seems like i am in a constant state in paypal awaiting reply.. from the seller.. all i really want is either a replacement or my money back and the system is totally messed up...

they do have a doa policy but at this time.. I might just not deal with ebay anymore..

but fyi i have purchased quite a bit of routers from cablesandkits and they should arrive very shortly and hopefully fully functional..

Dont worry... if the seller does not reply by a certain time frame you will be granted your request and paypal will go after them.

That's the other reason I like them, but before the holidays they were sending the small Hersey Chocolate Bars. The down side -- every time I think about Cables & Kits I want candy :D

Cables & Kits has a phone number and fax number, so you're not limited to email (or ebay message) correspondence like you are with some ebay vendors. But I've never had to use them. C&K has always been fast, fun, and efficient.

Oh -- and make sure you look at the Cables & Kits business card -- the cards I have mention a coupon code for your next order. :D

    Hi guys,

I am the owner of CablesAndKits and I wanted to drop in and say THANKS for all the nice things you guys have been saying about us!

We try very hard to make sure our customers are very pleased with our products and our service and it is very nice to see that you guys are happy!

When I first read the original post by dgbarr I actually read it wrong and thought he was saying that WE did not take care of his issue by hiding behind a "90 hour" time limit. I was itching to get it touch with him to find out what happened but then realized he was talking about someone else that he had purchased from. What a relief! icon_biggrin.gif

Personally, I think that a "90 HOUR warranty" is just plain ridiculous. Sometimes it takes more than 90 hours to get around to testing the unit. What if your install is not for a week or two?? It is pretty standard in the industry, with "real" Cisco dealers, to offer a 90 day warranty which is what we offer. And like mikej412 said, you can ALWAYS give us a call if you have an issue. I hate it when you buy from someone on the web and cannot reach them by phone if needed. As a matter of fact, I really try to NOT buy from places like that. Sometimes you just need to reach someone by phone quickly.

Again, I thank you guys for all the nice things you have said. If there is ever anything I can do for anyone please let me know!

    Thanks!

My shipment from cablesandkits is scheduled to come friday. I ordered a 12u rack, cables, and a few other "spare parts." I will let everyone know how it comes out... might even take a few pictures of the toys all setup after the fact.

I will say they have been a pleasure to deal with so far, I had my tracking number 6hrs after ordering.

I've bought from cablesandkits.com in the past. their services are top-notch and I have recommended them to other members here in the past and they have received equally stellar service.

I have purchased from CablesandKits through ebay, and I have ordered from them directly.
I have been very pleased. They really are competitive and ship quickly. If I really needed something, I would go shopping on this guy's site.

    My 2-cents worth.
