What is the prefered term for enable/privileged mode.
I have run across this in a couple of practice exams and when the question is asked there is only a option for one correct answer, but both are available to select. The books I have read say that they are interchangeable.
Sorry to waist most everyones time with such a simple question.
Thanks in advance

These are the official terms if I'm not mistaken. I have heard both and most people would know what you are talking about if you said enable mode. For the exam I'd go with priviledged exec mode.An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made. -

I would be inclined to say privileged mode is the technically correct term, even though many may use the term enable mode, simply because they type enable to access it.
