Hello,
I found a sybex set for mcse 2000.I can not decide to buy it or not.It is 8 books which are listed down. The price is only 90$.It is not much for 8 books but it is only not so few for uselless books.I want to use them as reference not only for exams.Do you think this set can be good refeence to me?I read reviews in amazon for core, they are good. But for electives the people didn't like them.Or do you prefer this? Mastering Windows 2000(4th dition) + Sybex(70-218,70-219,70-220,70-221) ?

I need your advice.

Have you checked whether those books are all Study Guides or whether they're Readiness Review books? Cuz 90 bucks is really too low for 8 Study Guides..... icon_lol.gif

Oh.. did they say they were "second edition". I think that's where the catch is. icon_cry.gif Have you checked out whether that's the latest print around?

They are all 2nd editions so the latest is second.

oh.. well Alkaline. if that's the case, it looks like a good deal to me. but why don't you tarry a bit least some MCSE wizzess post something about the books themselves.

But I have a question regards the track you wish to pursue. Are you sure you want to go on an start getting certified in Win2k and not Win2k3? (I'm assuming you haven't completed any exams so far). If so, wouldn't it be better that you buckle up for Win2k3 and start studying for that instead. I'm hearing that a person who's certified in win2k3 will now everything in win2k as well.

But that 90 dollar deal rocks!! icon_wink.gif

Yeh, it's weird that a lot of people are still getting Win2K certified over Win2K3. I assume that a lack of experience is keeping people away from taking that step towards Win2K3. I have heard the 293 and 294 are really really hard if you haven't worked for atleast 6-12 months on 2K3 Server (not sure how long it's been out now).

Sounds like a killer deal to me.
