Query on taking an MCP

Hi All,

I wish to take up an MCP certification on .net to aid my career, the problem is that currently i dont work in a .net dev environment,

but i have got a basic knowledge. So my query is can i be successful on taking up the certification with the books,materials that microsoft press releases for these exams? How should i proceed futher. Any advices please..

You can definitely do any of the tests without actually working with it. It would probably be wise to add another resource or two into the mix. You should also check out: http://www.learnvisualstudio.net/ The pricing is quite reasonable for what you get.

I do not believe that passing an MCTS or MCPD exam will grant the MCP designation. These exams are not listed on the MCP Certification Requirements page. If you goal is to achieve the MCP designation, I would send an email to mcphelp@microsoft.com and ask about this.

I am not a Developer but I would think you could learn what you need by picking up an MS Press book for one of these exams.

Just do a search on amazon.com for the exam number and will get a list of books for the exam(s).
